Individuals can drive trucks or lorries that weigh more than 3.5 tonnes with an HGV Licence. The following categories of driver's licences include HGV Licences that is the Cat D1 driving licence and car to Arctic, C, C+E, C1 and C1+E. HGV licences are issued by the DVSA and are good for 5 years (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency).
