There are a few steps you need to follow if you want to become a commercial driver. If you want to know how to get a commercial driving licence, follow these steps : 

  • Know which commercial driving licence you want. Whether you want to drive a heavy goods vehicle, a bus, or a coach.
  • Get a full category B licence (car licence) 
  • Submit an application for provisional entitlement to DVLA. 
  • Qualify for part one of the driver's Certificates of professional competence test (CPC). It is a theory test. 
  • Clear your part 2 and part three of the driver CPC test. It includes case studies and driving ability.
